Dear friends,

Sometimes I think a lot about “Why do I become a teacher? Why can’t I just go on with my mom’s wish? etc”

Yup, this kinda thinking strike people’s mind almost all the time.

Is it because we never feel satisfied with anything?

Well, I don’t know whether it is the reason and it makes me tired just thinking about it.

Being a teacher is not an easy task. There are certain things you have to remember; they are:

1. becoming a role model (having flaws in their eyes will ruin their perfect model)

2. you can’t judge your students (for your judgement will also be measured on you-Bible)

3. you have to be able to explain clearly (so the students will understand your materials)

4. you have to be strict (caregiver – not simply having fun)

5. you have to correct hundreds of papers as soon as you can (for they’ll keep asking where’re their works, comments, and the scores)

6. on the report day (sometimes working day for problematic students) we need to meet their parents – listening to complaints and suggestions

7. and still many others.

Being a teacher is not always bad. One of the greatest side is when your students become successfull and they managed to recognize you and feel grateful having a teacher like you.

Yeah, being a teacher feels tiring and burdening. However, there’s one verse that makes me relieve and gain a lot of spirit when I teach. It says

“I choose you to be here … Not you who choose Me”

Yeah, let’s do our activities just to glorify His name!!!

PS: next will be about the ideal teacher!!!

Dear friends,

Been such a long time since I truly put my efforts in Writing. Yet, tody I’ll share a bit about it …

Yup these weeks have  exhaustively taken my breath away but the one that I would like to share is only the ‘three masses’ in 2 days …

Well, talking about my activities at my church … Not going to be croaky about myself, I’m quite active. I join the choir group, attend all types of meeting (around my own church or even the whole Surabaya), try to come to all invitations (Bible, prayers, etc). Yup, I join many things (especially choirs) since many years ago. The best choir group I joined was Gema Inventa; lately their members are new ones (hope that one day I could join again).

Ok, let’s go back to my own topic!!!

Yup, due to the activities, I had to join 3 masses last week.

Saturday at 6 p.m., Sunday at 8 p.m. – as choir’s member.

and Sunday at 10 p.m. – as a lector.

The one which was so funny was when I had to read the communities’ prayers (The Missionary Day) … It was totally different from the text that everybody’s got and even mine …  It was quite shocking and made me nervous and trembled bit by bit … In the end, I closed it with a smile.

Funny ….

Yeah the priest … Romo Dwi Joko (Romo DJ) was quite surprised when I was there. He said “Lho, Corry lagi. Tadi kan KOOr to?” Well, I replied “Sama kan Romo tadi mimpin sekarang ya lagi. Cuman kemaren waktu aku koor jam 6 Romonya bukan Romo DJ tapi Romo Koko.” He smiled afterwards.

It was such a nice experience especially because I could meet my friends from Gema Inventa after being Lector (they were invited as choir group).

Well, because I was way too tired, I stumbled myself when I went down through the stairs. Fortunately my friend held my hand so I didn’t fall. Imagine falling from the top to the bottom. I may lose my neck.

C U again guys …

Dear friends,

The one that I’m going to write below is taken from a short article …

“How often do you get compliments from your beloved?”

This question was given to hundreds of spouses in a research. The result was quite shocking; mostly said:

“I never receive any compliment” or “Almost never!!!” A wife also answered “I can’t even remember when was th last time my husband gave me a compliment.”

It shows that many people are so stingy in giving compliments. It feels so difficult for them to say “like, admire, etc” This is due to various reasons; such as “He/she knows already; If we compliments him, he will be big headed; I’m too shy to say; and many others”.

On the other hand, complimenting  improve a relationship or friendship.

Moses, as a leader of Israel, noticed this one. On Mount Sinai, Moses was told that Hobab and his group were no longer willing to continue the journey. Hobab was not an Israel, instead he was a Midian, therefore, he wanted to go back to his hometown. Noticing this, Moses pleaded that Hobab would stay by saying how important Hobab was. Hobab was said to be the best person to direct them into the wilderness of the desert. Even though Moses was the highest leader, he was willing to admit Hobab’s ability. This was the reason why Hobab finally decided to stay and stand for Moses; for he knew that Moses appreciate him.

Let’s all think!!! How many people stay around you? How many people help you? How many people make your life comfortable and beautiful? Hove you noticed it? Have you told them how important they are for you? If not, do it today!!!

31And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

32And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

33And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

Dear friends,

I will share my reading today (not the yesterday; though it was quite the same). Yeah, today’s reading strengthens my lost and grieving soul.

The reading today is taken from Genesis 15: 1-21. It says:

1After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

2And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

3And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

4And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

5And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

6And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

7And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.

8And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

9And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

10And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.

11And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.

12And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

13And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

14And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

15And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

16But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

17And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

18In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

19The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,

20And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,

21And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

Well friends, lately (especially yesterday), I find it difficult to sleep. Yeah somehow feeling so sad and depressed. One thing for sure, I’ll keep on writing coz that’s my greatest memory of the one whom I love most.

Still remember him saying that he loved my stories.

Dear friends,

Today’s devotion was about “Loving God”

Here are the readings:

1. Deuteronomy 6: 5

5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

2. Matthew 22: 37

37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

3. Luke 10: 27

27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Well, dear friends, the one that I would like to give more attention is the same meaningful remark being left from the three readings above.

They carries the same meaning though they were presented in such a different time. Matthew and Luke might still be in what we call as Gospel. What about Deuteronomy??? Can you imagine such a long time but still they’re the same???

I do believe that there are still other examples in our beloved Holy Bible about this kinda thing; especially if we deal with the Gospels. Do you know why? Well, they are written by different people in different place and even different time. I’ll tell you if I have found my senior high school note book 🙂

Ok!!! Let’s go to “Love”

It is true that we have to love our God with all of our heart, soul, strength and mind. But will it be easy???

Some people may say “Yes, it is easy” and the further question will be “HOW?”

Some people may say “No, it’s not” and the next question should be “WHY?”

What about the ones saying “I don’t know” then the remark will be “Try to find out!”

Dear friends,

Loving God will surely turn out to be difficult if you are still dragged into what we call as the “World Life”. Why? because you won’t be able to love your Lord truly with all your heart, soul, mind, strength and whatsoever. At this very moment living in this very world, you are being tested and seduced. Your love will be partly given to Him as you will also love money, other people, and many other meat life.

Well, I don’t want you to hate money, hate others and hate billions of things. The one that I would like you to consider is “Have you really give your love to God for everything He has given to you?”

If you haven’t, you have to do it!!! How??? At least, spend your time in the morning and evening. Pray in the morning before you go to work (say thanks for his protection through the night and ask for his guidence through the day). Pray at night before going to bed (not only as reflection but also thanks forthings that He did for you that day). If you may still have the time … Read the Holy Bible and maybe join with some people discussing it. I love discussing it. really. May even stay hours talking about His might.

Cheers
