At the Wrong Place???

Dear friends,

Have you ever felt that you are put at the wrong place??? Then you questioned God about it???

Well, I did it just 2 days ago.

Dear friends, let me give you a glimpse about my students.

Well, the students in my class are so famous. Not because of the good ones but you could say yeah … Too noisy, too active, and many others. I have to admit that I become fed up with all of the comments.

Almost everyday, I have to control my temper though finally I sometimes couldn’t do it.

Still remember my 2 students being suspended???

Well it makes me sad; terribly sad. That coming morning, I went to their class planned to talk to them a bit but I finally burst into tears. It wasn’t because they are bad ones but because they are my students and I felt I had failed them somehow.

Time went by till finally Valentine’s Day …

On Monday, two days after, after the morning devotion, they all surprised me by giving me a huge polar bear and a fine nice necklace. The two was accompanied with a card saying how sorry they were. It was too sweet … I took it downstairs and all of the teachers were looking at me. Yeah I put the bear in my chair, my friend put a pen on one of the bear’s hand. And she said “you are now substitute by a bear”

It felt so great noticing that all of them might have changed their behaviour a bit till finally on Wednesday …

Well, I was a little bit late on that day after seeing a lawyer.

Yeah a phone in the teachers ‘ room rang and I picked it up. The voice said “Is Mam Corry there?” I was surprised and said “Yeah, it’s me” and my colleague there said something shocked me.

Yeah my students and another incident. The biggest problem was the one doing it was the one getting 6 days suspension at that time. Just entering 2 days and did another thing.

Fortunately, the teacher had promised me that she wouldn’t bring it to the Teachers’ Council.

Yeah, lives seemed too difficult that I asked God this  question “God, did you put me in the right class?”  at night; before going to bed.

I was so very impolite I guess asking such a question.

Well, but God does love me and all of you I guess that He gave me His answer that following morning.

As usual, before having teachers’ devotion at 7.15, I have my own morning devotion at home.

That day the reading was Exodus 13: 17-22

¹⁷And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

¹⁸But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁹And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

²⁰And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

²¹And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

²²He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

Well, from this reading, I realised that God put me there for a reason, the one that I might not know.

In the reading, the Israel people were led to use other road instead of using the shorter road to the Promise Land. Well, even though it was farther and at the end they met a sea, God was never wrong. He used that longer road to educated the Israel people, He used the road to show that He is the mightiest (He showed His power over the sea).

Due to this, I realised that God wanted to tell me “I’m not wrong, you are meant for the class. Just do your best to glorify my name”

Since that day, I feel closer and closer to Him.

Dreaming of my Dad

Dear friends,

let’s go back to other vision. This time deals with my dad in my dream. It happened around a month ago.

During those days, I was having complicated struggle and problems.

Well, you may say “Who has no problem? We all do!!!”

However, I do believe that those ones are truly unforgetable and it finally made me ill for couple of days. I did still go to school but I lost my interest and spirit.

During those days, there were billions of sms came to my cell and most of them were from my ex-students, They tried to encourage me and even came to my house. However, it didn’t settle my soul in a peaceful mode.

Late that evening … when I went to bed … I got a dream. It was …

It was quite dark; in the evening maybe. I was on the road with my sister and my father. Even though the sky was dark and the road was quiet, it seemed that I was in Kuta, Bali. There were sellers on our right and left.

My sis was riding a bicycle and I sat at the back while my dad was walking. We stopped for a moment at one of the vendors who sold food and bought ‘resoles.’ Then, my sis continued riding the bicycle, faster and even entering several isles.

Soon, I asked her to stop cos our father was left behind. I told her that I’d picked him up with the bicycle. However, when I started to ride it, it was so terribly heavy. It seemed that it wouldn’t move for even an inch.

However, I soon realized that my father was there on my back. He even said ‘Shall we continue?’ I was so surprised yet so happy and relieve noticing that he was there all along.

Soon, we continued our journey. Our destination seemed so far away that I finally asked whether it was still long. My father answered ‘Still four times.’

While walking under the terrace of the road, I could see that it was raining quite hard on my right and left, but I was still dry and fine. At the end of the road, we must climb a hill cos our destination was there at the top (it was somekind like a place where there were candles and light in it. The place was so bright due to the candles).

My father soon ran up trying to reach the place. Then, I shouted and asked him to stop. He came back and I said ‘We’ll wait until the rain stop or borrow an umbrella’. My father was looking for the umbrella when I woke up ….

Dear friends,

I was trying to guess what was the meaning of my dreams and the one and the most important thing was “My father will always be with me here and there. He will always guard my back wherever I go even though I might leave him somewhere. But he’ll soon catch me up and be with me.” Well, that’s the most important thing of all other things that I tried to figure out.

Let’s check one by one:

• It was dark (evening). It showed that I was still surounded by the problems and that I was in grief. My heart was resembled in my dream (the dark sky)
• My sis and I went so fast and left my dad behind. It was the picture of our live keep going and going and even running and never care to look to the back
• I asked my sis to stop and planned to pick up my dad. I realized that an important person was left behind so we have to slow down or go back.
• I tried to ride but failed to move the bike for even an inch. Well, there is no turning back. In our live, we have to clearly think of the road that we want to take cos once we take the wrong path, we can’t go back.
• Long? four times. This one makes me confuse whether I would have other big problems like this four times more or will I live four times my age now.
• Raining on right and left but I’m dry. Many people cry but I was still ok. I really have to mind my path or else I’ll also cry.
• Climbing hills to the top. Everybody wishes to be the best and to do it we’re climbing and it’s difficult; especially in the rain.
• A place with candles and lights. Surely everyone wants light in their lives; not darkness. This can only be found in sacred places (churches). He who create us is the light itself.
• My dad ran up but I stopped him. Well, he wanted to help me in my problems but I asked him to stop and wait.

Well, as I said, for me the important thing is that he will always be there for me and with me.

Who is the Winner?

Dear friends,

Hereby, I would like to share bit by bit about my vision through dreams. However, I won’t start from the first and go to the last, but I’ll discuss the last and go back.

Well … friends,

Two weeks ago, Saturday, my students were doing their debate competition, I called one of them and he did not pick it up. Instead, he called me back not long after. It was around 7 and he said that he was extremely tired and, moreover, there was a group whom all of the members were racists. Well, couldn’t do a thing but manage to say ‘Let It Be’ (Bee Gees) 🙂

He sent me several other messages after that and at around 9, he gave me the last sms that they went to the quarter final. I was so happy and sent him several lines that I took from Wordsworth’s poem to take him to his deep rest.

At night, when I went to bed, I got a dream. It was very obvious. Let me share my dream here …

In my dream, I saw two groups were fighting for the first champion, it was Petra. However, I could also see my students there.

I woke up not long after that. Then, I decided to pray to God and tried to figure out the meaning. I directly came up to a conclusion that th winner will be Petra students. What about my students? I came up to another conclusion that they would also win, but not the first. Could be second or third.

In the morning, I went to church, prayed for my students, my father, family, beloved … and many others.

Did you know what happened after?

My student gave me an sms saying ‘Sorry, I could not be the first. We became the second”

I replied ‘You have already become a winner’

WOW, exactly as I predicted ….
